The toxic potential of a protein concentrate of giant squid (Dosidicus gigas) was evaluated by studying 90 days repeated dose toxicity in Sprague Dawley rats of both sexes. The methods used were those described by OECD (1998) guidelines. Oral doses of 500, 1000 and 2000 mg / kg / day for 13 weeks were administered. The toxic signs and corporal weight were evaluated. The consumption of food, hematological indicators (hemoglobin, hematocrit, differential leucocyte count and total leucocyte count) and clinical biochemistry (albumin, creatinine and transaminases glutamicopirúvica) were monitored. After the autopsy and histopathological examination and relative weight of organs (liver and kidney), it was concluded that there were not toxic signs or mortality as a result of the administration of giant squid (Dosidicus gigas) protein concentrate in none of the treatments
