In the present study, the state of the water resource system of the sugar company Agroindustrias San Jacinto S.A.A. in the period 2006-2015 was analyzed, as well as the possibilities that exist to optimize it. This company is located in the middle and lower part of the Nepeña river basin, with 7000 ha of sugarcane. To start the analysis of the system, an inventory of the major and minor irrigation infrastructure was carried out and the hydrometric and meteorological information was collected. This information was used to simulate the general system, through the decision support system AQUATOOL-SIMGES. The results of this simulation indicate that the agricultural fields of the agroindustrial company have an average annual water deficit (2006-2015) of 32.2 Hm3 and a guarantee of supply of 81.6 percent. To change this situation, 23 investment projects have been proposed and simulated in the base scheme to know their benefits. To carry out the optimization process, the economic information of each scenario was evaluated and, with a limited budget as a restriction, an objective function was used to maximize the economic benefits of the company. In order to identify the projects that must be executed with the highest priority, this problem was solved using the Solver tool of Excel, finding that the optimal scenario is composed of the projects of coating of the exit channel of the Motocachy reservoir and installation of irrigation by sleeves in the sectors of Palenque, La Capilla and Quisque. For this purpose, the company must invest 1.73 million dollars to reduce the water deficit by 37 percent, which will provide an economic benefit of 7.73 million dollars over a period of five years.
