The present study aimed to determinate an equation for the estimation of aerial biomass and volume estimation of the Myrcianthes oreophila species, evaluated in the Yanaunca forest in the district of Los Chankas, province of Chincheros, department of Apurímac. The destructive method was used and the variables diameter at breast height (DBH), total height (TH), shaft height and canopy diameter (CD) of 33 individuals were evaluated, obtaining a total of 99 shaft samples and 33 branch samples that were taken to be analyzed on laboratory, where the basic density and moisture content was determined. In the cabinet, the volume, the biomass of the individuals were determined and 122 models of equations were selected based on the independent variables measured. The models were submitted to the regression analysis using the least squares method, for this the statistical criteria were taken into account: coefficient of determination (R2 ), the Fisher and t-Student statistical significance tests and the residual analysis for the determination of homocedasticity. Of the equations evaluated, seven biomass equations and four volume equations met the assumptions. Subsequently, weighted regression analysis was performed on those models that did not meet the assumptions of homocedasticity. 2319 equations for the biomass estimation and 1886 equations for the volume estimation were generated, of which three biomass equations and two volume equations met the statistical criteria and managed to homogenize their variance. For both cases, the Furnival index of the accepted equations was compared. For the biomass estimation the following were selected: B = - 17,041349 + 11,298824 * CD + 0,721718 * DBH * TH, while for the volume estimation the following were selected: V = -0,075962 + 0,026029 * TH + 0.0000656 * DBH2,5 .
