Strawberry plants (Fragaria ananassa) showing symptoms of leaf spot were found in the producing areas of Manchay Bajo, Pachacamac district, Lima. After isolation, observations under the microscope of its morphological characteristics and size of its structures, the pathogen was identified as the fungus Corynespora cassiicola. Healthy strawberry plants inoculated in a greenhouse, produced lesions after three days. The symptoms consisted of dark brown spots with a light brown center, surrounded by a yellow halo, that coalesced and subsequently caused the necrosis of the whole leaf. The fungus Trichoderma harzianum strain T-22 showed an antagonistic activity against C. cassiicola causing a micelial inhibition of 41.8 %. In «In vitro» tests, the fungicides Fosetil aluminum (Aliette) and Thiabendazole (Mertect) inhibited the mycelial growth of C. cassiicola by 100 and 96.32 %, respectively. In greenhouse, the fungicide Azosystrobim (Stronsil) at a concentration of 0.75 g/L had the best control over C. cassiicola and the lowest ABCPE (area under the disease progress curve), followed by Thiabendazole (Mertect) at a concentration of 1.5 ml/L.
