The study aimed to develop methodology determine the adoption intention rate of technological innovation in smallholders of high altitude dairy cattle of the Association of Agricultural Producers “Perla Andina“ of Huallquin Grande. 16 producers were evaluated for 16 months, the adoption of corn silage as an agricultural, carrying out a characterization of the production system through the systematization of four surveys and visits to the fields. In addition, the implementation of the demonstrative experiment, corn silage vs. oat hay in a simple change design and estimation of the incremental economic income of innovation. The results obtained were: 58.3% of milk production in APAPAHG is between 5 and 10 l/day/cow. The base of the family economy in Huallquin Grande is mainly livestock, with a monthly income of 501 to 1000 soles in the majority of families (54.5%). Producers observed an increase in milk production through technological innovation, from 2.48 l/day/cow. This improvement in milk production leads to an increase in family income, estimated at 390.60 soles/family/month. The demonstration experiment had a high adoption intention rate since 93% are willing to reuse the silage. The demonstrative experiment methodology made it possible to sensitize the producer so that he becomes aware, motivated, interested and accepts the risk of introducing silage into his management system as an agricultural innovation technique. Finally, to initiate the producer's interest in adopting an innovation, a preliminary test should be carried out and with it, acceptance to implement the experiment in their fields.
