This work describes the methodology for the elaboration of the Terminal Aerodrome Forecast (TAF), which is consider one of the main operative procedures that is carried out in the Aerodrome Meteorological Office (OMA) in the Peruvian Corporation of Airports and Commercial Aviation (CORPAC). According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), three quarters of major flight delays in regions with high air traffic density are related to weather conditions (convection, turbulence, icing, wind shear, fog, etc.) others). This is the reason why a methodology for performing the aerodrome terminal forecast (TAF) is needed with emphasis on the meteorological phenomena that may affects aeronautical operations. For the development of the methodology, the following steps were carried out: frequency tables of the occurrences of thunderstorm and fog events at the Iquitos airport were made. Then, the variables associated with the development of these phenomena were identified. After that, the atmospheric conditions associated to their occurrences were identified and finally, a methodology that allows its inclusion the aerodrome terminal forecast (TAF) for the Iquitos airport was performed through the analysis of two case studies, one of storm and the other of fog. Through the methodology found in the present work that emphasizes the inclusion of meteorological phenomena in the procedure for carrying out the aerodrome terminal forecast (TAF) at the Iquitos airport, an improvement in the aeronautical meteorology service will be achieved; since this constitutes one of the most important factors for air traffic management (ATM), because it contributes to improving the safety and efficiency of operations both for airlines on the ground and during different aircraft flight phases
