The high paper consumption and production, through different types of presentations, generates large amounts of sludge residues at the paper plants, causing environmental risks if not appropriate managing procedures are put on practice on such residues. An alternative solution to overcome this problem is recycling these sludge residues to produce organic fertilizers by the vermicompostage process. This research was carried out at the facilities of Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina (UNALM). Different substrate combinations were prepared, in which was growth earthworms from the genus Eisenia foetida. Cow manure was used as substrate, which was washed in order to eliminate the excess of salts. Paper sludges were mixed with washed manure in 5 different rates (100%, 75%, 50%, 25% y 0%). The sludge came from Kimberly Clark Peru. The beds were prepared in wooden boxes in five treatments and three replications each. Substrates were added, making up fifteen beds. Then, 250 g of earthworms (Eisenia foetida) was incorporated into each box. At the 60th, 90th, and 120th day; first observations were carried out on the number of cocoons, juveniles, preclytelated and clytelated (biological age stages of worms). At the 120th day of observation, 10 adult worms from each treatment box were measured and weighted. It was determined that the treatment with 100% sludge content presented the highest number of worms. Physical-chemical analysis samples of the humus of worms produced, were taken on the 120th day, and then analyzed at the Soil laboratory. Physicochemical results of the treatments were determined to be use as organic amendment according to B.O.E. 146 – 1991 of the Spanish Regulation. To evaluate the agricultural quality of the compost produced by worms in each treatment; these were mixed with sand in different proportions (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 15% and 0% vermicompost), obtaining altogether 6 mixtures. A portion of 1 kg of each of the six mixtures was filled in pots where five corn seeds were grown on it. Three months after sowing, the size of the plants, dry matter, dry matter from roots, and the number of leaves were evaluated. Regarding the production of dry matter of seedlings and roots, and plant height, the most efficient treatment was with 100% worm humus, followed by the treatment with 75% earthworm plus 25% sand
