The study was done in the central peruvian jungle (INIAAEEA PicHanaki and field farmers), the objectives were to determine (a) The nematodes associated to the pineapple cultivation (b) The frequence of nematodes in different places (e) the incidence of nematodes populations for age of plantation (d) Relations of the main plant parasitic nematodes with components of production and quality of pineapple. For the three first objectives samples were taken in farmers of different places (Pichanaki, Alto Kuyani, San Ramon, Satipo) and different ages of plantation (first, second and third harvest). For the 4th. objective experiments were installed in Pichanaki and San Ramon with different dose of granulated phenamiphos nematicide at 5% which were appl icated in Pichanaki, three months after seedtime and eleven months in San Ramon. For the nematode analysis it was used the Method of tray (soil) and the Method of blender (roots). The most important parasitic nematodes that were found associated to pineapple were Helicotylenchus pseudorobustus, multicintus, tl. dihystera, Pratylenchus brachyurus P. coffeae, Meloidogyne incognita and Rotylenchulus reniformis. The more heterogeneous populations were found in Pichanaki, followed by San Ramon, Satipo and Alto Kuyani; the most frequent genus were Helicotylenchus Pratylenchus and Meloidogvne. It was determined that populations of Helicotylenchus and .Pratylenchus in plantations of the first harvest were statisticaly similar to the second harvest and this to the third harvest. All througth the time it was observed a decrease of populations during the time of greater florewing (natural or artificial) and increase during harvest time. The evaluation of the relation between the plant parasitic nematodes and the components of production and quality of pineapple (weight and lenght leaf D, number leaves/plant, crowns/fruit, slips/fruit, weight fruit with crown and without crown, diarneters of fruits and core, hight fruit and brix %) with correlation analysis, i t was found negative relation for the majority of these components in Pichanaki and San Ramon.
