This study was conducted on the basis of a forest management plan, approved in 2004 by government authorities, technical monitoring of activities has been done for five years with the help of the Association for Research and Integral Development AIDER in order to assess the sustainability of timber forest management through resource conservation and improving the live quality of the community. It has been done a review records and analysis of existing information related to the management plan, supported by the observed values of participatory assessments and analytical field for a sample of 32 of the 55 families composing the community. The results were part of environmental, economic and social aspects, indicating that forest management has caused positive impacts: a logging planned, ordered and certified technologies of low-impact has being used for the extraction, implementation of a participatory management plan, revenue economic by the sale of timber, generating jobs, improving community infrastructure, increased acquisition of consumer goods, strengthening self-esteem and strengthening organizational capacity. In addition, the study allowed the change of perception of the community, on the valuation of the forest for their importance to the comprehensive development of grassroots community family
