The research analyzes the socioeconomic factors that influence the adoption level of new technologies for soil management and conservation. The research objectives were: (i) to identify the main socioeconomic factors that influence in the farmer's adoption, and (ii) to determine the adoption level of new technologies for soil management and conservation. The research was developed at San Luis catchment, San Luis district, Carlos Fermin Fitzcarrald province, Ancash region. The catchment was stratified into three zones: high, medium and low; and 189 PRONAMACHCS partners were randomly interviewed. Results indicated that 57.9% of the members of the medium zone have achieved a high adoption level of mechanical and structural practices compared to other zones, this result is related to the availability of land and incentives. The 31.6% of the members of the medium zone have achieved a high adoption level of agronomic practices compared to other zones, these results related to the purchasing power and availability of agricultural supplies. The 92.5% of members of the high and low zone, and 100% of the medium zone, implement agroforestry. The 87% of members of the catchment have expressed that soil erosion have decreased due the soil conservation practices, and of them, 58% have indicated that agricultural production have increased due to these practices.
