The determination of water parameters at the National Agrarian University La Molina - UNALM, remains a complicated task and requires a lot of effort and time, a more economical and faster alternative is the use of transfer soil functions to determine such water parameters. This research work was carried out in the irrigation and drainage laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering of UNALM, using 77 soil samples taken in the agricultural fields of the university. The objective is to determine the transfer soil functions (FET s), which allow to estimate the soil water parameters according to the primary particles, using the pressure cooker of Richards, to quickly know the moisture retention values, in function of the granulometry of the agricultural soils, of the National Agrarian University La Molina - UNALM. The methodology for determining the water parameters (field capacity and wilt point) was very different in both cases, from the preparation of the soil, the saturation and the operation of the extractor plate to the pressures of 0.33 bar and 15 bar. For the determination of the FET s, three statistical analyses were performed; first, the results obtained from the pressure extractor plate were verified through the box diagram and Pearson correlations were made with the primary particles, second formulate a first model of FET s by means of multiple linear regression, taking as independent variables the primary particles (clay, silt and sand) and variable dependent to the water parameters (field capacity and point of wilt). Finally, by analysing the residues and the influential observations obtained from both mathematical models, a second model of soil transfer functions was determined which for the field capacity is %Wcc = 0.437 x %Ar + 0.287 x %L - 0.027 x %A + 2.009 and for the wilt point is %Wpm = 0.317 x %Ar + 0.158 x %L - 0.040 x A + 2.205. Each pedotransference function was validated by the Nash-Sutcliffe (NSE), the coefficient of determination R2 and the mean quadratic error between values determined in laboratory and values estimated by mathematical models, to determine its fit and degree of dispersion.
