In the present investigation, the salinity, sodicity and drainage conditions of agricultural soils of a representative area of the Zaña valley, in the Cayaltí area, Lambayeque region, were evaluated. The study was carried out in three stages: field phase, with the recognition of the study area, topographic survey, excavation of pits and soil sampling, installation of observation wells, underground and surface water sampling, and washing tests; laboratory phase, with chemical analyzes on soil, groundwater and surface samples; and, finally, the office phase, with the preparation of topographic plans, isosalinity and iso-depth maps of the water table, salinity profiles, and wash profiles and curves. The results obtained from the EC of the soil vary from 15.30 to 10.23 dS / m, classifying it as strongly saline; for the washing water, the EC was 0.23 dS / m and the groundwater presented an EC of 2.02 to 0.83 dS / m (medium to high salinity); PSI and RAS values were 5.2 and 11.97, respectively, which indicate that there is no problem of sodicity; With a 40 cm wash sheet the salinity of the soil was reduced to levels of 3.56 to 2.54 dS / m (0 -15 cm deep); 3.2 to 2.56 dS / m (15 to 30 cm deep); from 2.1 to 1.34 dS / m (at a depth of 30 to 45 cm); and, from 1.61 to 0.97 dS / m (45 to 60 cm deep). To improve the effectiveness of the washing, activities were recommended to clean the land, leveling, subsoiling and choosing a crop tolerant to changes in salinity.
