The current work was developed by the company Maquiwood S.A.C. The main objective was to analyze and optimize the drying process of agricultural poles of White Bolaina (Guzuma crinita). We must first acknowledge that the operations before the drying process and the management of drying parameters are deficient. Given those facts, we can propose an alternative drying program in the production line of the products and quantify the benefits obtained with these modifications. By improving the control of drying parameters like temperature (by rising it in the drying programs) or equilibrium moisture content (by reducing it), as well as by adjusting the initial and final conditioning phases. These modifications allowed to reduce the average drying time by 25%. Furthermore, the productivity of the drying area increased in 16%. These adjustments in the production process resulted in a decrease of 4.81 PEN/m3 of electrical energy consumption used in the drying process, generating economical profits for the company.
