This research work was carried out with the objective of designing a bank protection for the protection of the Acos - Huayllay road in the section from Km 20+290 to 21+000 on the left slope of the Chancay river. The bank protection proposal seeks to provide a solution to erosion processes due to exceptional flooding of the Chancay River that could affect the highway. For this, a topographic survey of the area under study was carried out, where cross sections were determined every 20 meters, which served to carry out the hydraulic modelling in HEC-RAS. For the modelling, we worked with the flow of the Tingo basin for a return period of 140 years stipulated in the manual of hydrology and drainage of the MTC. From this, the width of the river, the average speed, and the level of the river along the sector were determined. With the parameters obtained from the modelling, the hydraulic design of the riprap was carried out, thus, calculating the depth, width, and height of the riprap. Thus, obtaining the ideal design for the sector under study, which complies with the hydrological and hydraulic parameters.
