A plant density that is not suitable for a crop can result in a lower yield, this due to interspecific and intraspecific competition for space, light, nutrients and water. In Peru, the cultivation of broccoli has increased in recent years, as its demand is based on beneficial health properties which are described in research. One of the valleys that produces this vegetable is the Chillón Valley where no studies were found on the relationship between planting density and yield, as well as broccoli quality. In order to evaluate the relationship between the sowing density with respect to the yield and quality of broccoli cv. Imperial, the experimental area was installed from June to September 2020 in the Chillón Valley located in Punchauca, Carabayllo District. The experimental design used was Completely Random Block Design with four replications. The distances evaluated were 0.3x0.8, 0.4x0.8, 0.5x0.8 and 0.6x0.8 meters between plants to give planting densities of 41667, 31250, 25000 and 20833 plants / ha. Performance characteristics and quality of the culture were evaluated: fresh weight, pellet diameter, height and peduncle diameter. The results showed a better performance in higher plant densities, while the best quality characteristics are higher when the plant density is lower. Concluding that broccoli cv. Imperial, under the evaluated conditions, will have a better yield at a density of 41,667 and quality at a planting density of 20,833 plants / ha.
