Hard yellow corn (Zea mays L.) is a crop of great importance worldwide because it is the key input in the balanced manufacture of animal feed. The present work consisted of evaluating the effect of complementary fertilization with different sources of magnesium and silicon on biometric characteristics, variables related to yield and grain yield of the DK 7088 hybrid, under La Molina conditions. The trial was carried out in the Experimental Agricultural Field of the La Molina National Agrarian University, during the months of June to December 2021. This research was developed under a completely randomized block design (DBCA) with five levels of fertilization: absolute control (without any application), fertilization of only N - P - K, N - P - K supplemented with imported Magnekling, N - P - K with national Magnekling and N - P - K with Magnesoil plus magnesium sulphate, in addition, it presented four repetitions per treatment. The best results obtained in the biometric characteristics, in the variables cob insertion height, stem diameter and number of leaves per plant were the treatments with complementary application of imported Magnekling, national Magnekling and Magnesoil with magnesium sulphate, in the case of plant height, did not present significant differences in the results. On the other hand, regarding the variables related to cob yield, the best results for the number of grains/row, weight of 100 grains, weight of grains/cob and shelling percentage were the treatments with complementary application of imported Magnekling, national Magnekling and Magnesoil with magnesium sulphate, additionally, the treatments with complementary fertilization of Magnesoil with magnesium sulphate and national Magnekling presented the best results in cob weight and number of cob/plant; In the case of cob length, the best results were obtained by all the fertilized treatments, except for the absolute control, in addition, in the cob diameter variable, the best treatment was the complementary application of Magnesoil with magnesium sulphate, likewise, the results obtained in number of rows/cob did not show significant differences between treatments. The results shown are related to grain yield, the treatments that had the best results in this parameter were those fertilized with imported Magnekling, national Magnekling and Magnesoil with magnesium sulphate.
