This research was conducted at the National Agrarian University La Molina. The general objective was: to evaluate the effect of the light color and age of the breeder on the productive response and carcass characteristics of broilers. The work was carried out over a period of 28 days, using a completely randomized statistical design of blocks with a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement; two colors of light (green and yellow) and two ages of Cobb500 breeder (31 weeks and 51 weeks) with 10 repetitions each and the block criteria were the battery levels (5 levels). The treatments used were: T1: Age of the breeder of 31 weeks and color of yellow light, T2: Age of the breeder of 31 weeks and color of green light, T3 = Age of the breeder of 51 weeks and color of yellow light and T4 = Age of the breeder of 51 weeks and color of green light. Through a variance analysis, the coefficient of variation (C.V.) was evaluated and when detecting significant differences, the Student-NewmanKeuls test was performed at 5 percent for treatments. The variables evaluated were: Productive response (weekly weight, food consumption, food conversion, weight gain and percentage of mortality); casing and breast performance; weights of structures (carcass, breast, liver, heart, proventriculus next to the gizzard, intestine, bursa and spleen) and allometric growth coefficients of the same structures. For the interaction of light color and age of the breeder, only significant differences were obtained for the CCA of the proventriculus next to the gizzard (p = 0.0403). For the other variables there were no differences.
