This study was conducted with the objective of determine the variation in the floristic composition of the lomas de Tacahuay since the late Pleistocene to the present. Botanical collections were made during the period 2010-2011 to develop the floristic inventory of current vegetation. Sediment samples were analyzed from 17 wells archaeological, to know past vegetation, paleopalinological analysis was performed, using the methodology of Traverse (1988). In the current flora was determined a total of 58 species, 45 genera and 23 families, whereas in the palinological analysis was determined 56 pollen types, 34 genera and 27 families. The families Asteraceae, Malvaceae, Solanaceae and Amaranthaceae were the most representative since the late Pleistocene to the present, the families Betulaceae, Bignoniaceae, Cucurbitaceae, Onagraceae, Podocarpaceae, and Rosaceae, now are no longer part of this ecosystem. The floristic composition of The Lomas de Tacahuay, that we know, was developed since the mid-Holocene being the species Caesalpinia spinosa, Fuertesimalva peruviana, Nolana sp., Baccharis sp., Althernanthera sp., Bidens sp., Grindelia sp., Conyza sp. Senecio sp. and Croton sp. which occupied this place for longer time periods. The species Sonchus oleraceus, Erodium sp., Olea europea, Erigeron sp., Heliotropium sp., Solanum sp. and Fuertesimalva chilensis were present from periods Inca/Spanish, These lomasharbored tree species that currently do not develop, such as Alnus acuminata, Tecoma sp., Pouteria sp. and Podocarpaceae. The lomas de Tacahuayis related to Andean species, activity of pastoralism, transhumance and climatic events determined significantly plant biotypes that currently take place in this ecosystem
