Objective: determine the in vitro antifungal effect of the ethanolic extract of Ranunculus praemorsus Kunth ex DC (centella) against strains of Candida albicans ATCC 10231. Materials and methods: quantitative, experimental; the population was Ranunculus praemorsus Kunth ex DC; On the other hand, 10 Petri dishes inoculated with Candida albicans ATCC 10231 were used. A phytochemical march and the agar diffusion technique were carried out, consisting of groups at 25%, 50%, 75% and 90% against Fluconazole 25 ug. Results: the average diameters at concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75% and 90% of the ethanolic extract of Ranunculus praemorsus Kunth ex DC (centella) on Candida albicans ATCC 10231 were lower than those recorded by Fluconazole 25 ug ( 28.57mm). The ANOVA statistical test was significant (p<0.05) for Fluconazole 25 ug compared to the control set. In the extract obtained from (centella) the presence of reducing sugars, α,β-unsaturated lactones, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, anthocyanins and alkaloids was identified. Conclusion: the ethanolic extract of Ranunculus praemorsus Kunth ex DC (centella) showed an antifungal action of 90% on Candida albicans ATCC 10231, which may be associated with the presence of the metabolites identified in said extract.
