In order to mitigate the economic effects generated by COVID-19, the Peruvian government enacted six early withdrawals of pension funds. These measures directly affected the financial market, since the AFP had to liquidate part of their assets in order to meet the withdrawal requests of the contributors to the Private Pension System. This research is focused on determining, for the period 2020-2022, the effect of early withdrawals from pension funds on the yield and volatility of the main financial instruments in Peru. Information from the main related entities was analyzed, concluding that, in the case of fixed income assets, represented by Peruvian Treasury Bonds, yields increased and prices had a volatile behavior, with a downward trend. However, in the case of variable income assets, represented by the S&P/BVL Peru General Index, there was a decrease in total return and high price volatility.
