It is a reality that every year the Older Adult Population (OAP) continues to increase and becomes more pronounced, leading to a growing demand for specialized services in this age group. The level of vulnerability is high because, during this stage of life, physical condition begins to deteriorate. Services are needed to promote an active lifestyle in the Older Adult (OA) to slow down this process. Currently, there are different types of Centers for Older Adults (COA) that offer specialized services for their needs, but they do not address the benefits of the user's relationship and posture towards society and culture. There is a need to restore the identity of the OA in a space that evokes it through traditions, which are represented in the peak of their lives: the past, translated into traditions passed down through generations. To achieve this objective, the memory of the republican architecture in Barranco is related, representing the city's history, to design a modern project rooted in its representative elements. The project aims to provide health and shelter services to Older Adults with a focused and rooted value proposition in line with the district's character where it is located. Firstly, the historical value of the Barranco district is analyzed to enhance the historical character of the project. Following this, various types of interventions with historical value are presented and applied to the architecture, to be implemented on the intervention site and on the Villán House, a ranch-style dwelling with over 100 years of history. Concepts such as identity and collective memory are also explored. Finally, a program is proposed to provide assistance and accommodation services to the primary user, addressing the challenges of the present while also offering activities related to culture and recreation to promote interaction between Older Adults and different age groups visiting and socializing in the project facilities.
