The objective of this research project is to determine the viability in the technical, social, economic and environmental aspects of the installation of a manufacturing plant for biodegradable containers from the starch of the banana peel. The product, known as Biopack, is presented as a 4 000 cm³ biodegradable container and will be distributed in boxes of 100 containers. The business model will be B2B, since the product will be commercialized in restaurants that offer delivery and/or pick-up service in Metropolitan Lima. It has been estimated that the demand for 2026 will be 3 154 290 containers. This is a value that was obtained from historical demand and the results of the survey. The plant will be located in the Santa Anita district of the department of Lima. In addition, it was determined that the main constraint will be market demand, since the project uses 0,20% of the amount of bananas coming into Metropolitan Lima. The technological capacity is 5 751 319 containers. The manufacturing process is semi-automatic to avoid irregularities in some of the operations. In general, between administrative and plant workers, there will be 24 people. The project will require a total investment of S/ 708 955 which will be financed at 40% with a TEA of 14,42% in decreasing payments. The economic VAN and TIR are estimated at S/ 869 611 and 48%, respectively. On the financial side, we have a VAN of S/ 910 610 and a TIR of 67%. Finally, the added value of the project is equivalent to S/ 3 967 455.
