Quinoa is an Andean grain that, nowadays, has a gastronomic apogee due to its benefits for men health, which categorize it as a “super food”. After being cleaned and peeled properly, it’s sold to costumers, so it can be used or ingested if wanted. Its peeling consists in removing the outer husk, which possess saponins. These ones are glicocyds that protect the plant against plagues and act as a tensoactive agent, which is a natural detergent. It’s from this last property that the business opportunity was detected, because it comes from the reuse of the husk that, nowadays, has no advantage being taken. It’s in the moment of the reusage that the valuable circular economy is reached. Because of that, the principal objective of this project is to determine that the installation of a factory that produces powder detergent form quinoa and tarwi saponins it’s technically feasible, economically profitable, commercially viable, environmentally sustainable and socially responsible. The plant is going to be located in Lima, with an area of 1000 m2, specifically in the industrial park of Chilca district, because it has the perfect conditions for the execution of the project and helps to optimizes costs. From the previously mentioned area, 170 m2 will be assigned to the production area, which is a higher value than the one obtained as the minimum necessary from the Guerchet methodology. The production line will be semi automatic and the critic operation of the productive process is the dry-granulation, in which the technology applied will be the dryer-atomizer JSMachine. The project offers a natural detergent in the presentation of 1,5 kilograms, for people that belong to the NSE A and B from zones 7 and 8 of Metropolitan Lima and it will be commercialized to them through the modern channel. The estimated demand for the first year will be of 126.992 packages of 1.5 kilograms of detergent and it is expected that it will grow approximately 9% per year, showing an attractive business opportunity. The product will be sold in boxes of 12 units to the three most representative self-service chains in the country (Cencosud, Peruvian Supermarkets and Tottus) and will be sold at a price of S/. 276.00 per box. The entry of this product will be accompanied by an investment in impulses and visibility elements at the points of sale with the purpose of accelerating the sale’s increase at the beginning. A total investment of S /.2,023,244 will be required. The results obtained after carrying out both economic and financial evaluations support the viability of the project, since the values of NPV E and NPV F are S /.1.744.967 and S /.2.023.134 respectively. Likewise, the results of the IRR E and IRR F were 39,5% and 51,6%, which turn out to be higher than the COK and WACC values.
