In the present work, an investigation is carried out on the pre-feasibility study for the installation of a plant for the manufacture of tactile tiles from recycled polyethylene terephthalate where the commercial, technological, economic-financial, social and environmental viability is determined. It begins by mentioning general aspects of the presentation of the topic such as the problematic of the research, a description of the product and a presentation of the objectives and scope of the research. Next, the justification of the present work and the hypothesis are exposed, as well as the referential and conceptual framework, which lay the theoretical bases of this research. Then, the general aspects of the market study are detailed, which contains the commercial definition of the product. In addition, the geographical area that the study will cover is determined and then proceeds to calculate the real demand based on consumption patterns and historical data collected in order to estimate the project demand using projection and sampling techniques. After that, necessary tools are applied to establish the location of the plant followed by the calculation of the plant size based on the market, available technology and productive resources, thus obtaining the limiting factor and the equilibrium point. The project engineering is also exposed, where the technical characteristics that the product fulfills are shown in addition to the production process, quality, machinery, plant layout, among others. The operational and strategic organization of the company is then presented, followed by the calculation of investments and costs incurred in the project, among which are inputs, labor, etc. Finally, the viability of the project is determined through a financial analysis using concepts that result in values of the following financial ratios: economic NPV, financial NPV, economic IRR and financial IRR. Finally, the project is socially evaluated and its impact on society is analyzed.
