This thesis seeks to support the introduction of a premium adult dog food for small and medium dog breeds to the Peruvian market. It is based on a pre-feasibility study for a premium dog food production plant made from sweet potatoes “Canmote“, demonstrating technical, economic, financial, environmental, social and market viability. First, an analysis of the market problem and its current trends was carried out, followed by a regression analysis using historical data to determine the apparent internal demand. The DIA was segmented according to the target audience of “Canmote“ and using the responses from the survey carried out, it resulted in a demand on the last year of the project of 91 627 bags of “Canmote“. Subsequently, an analysis of micro-location and macro-location was carried out which, through a confrontation of factors, determined “El parque industrial de Villa el Salvador” as the location for the plant. Following this, the size of the plant was determined in terms of technology, resources, market, and break-even point. This resulted in 91 627 bags of “Canmote” per year and an installed capacity of 248 430 kg. Following this, the productive area of 264 m2 and the other areas of the plant were defined to design the plan, as well as positions, equipment, tools, third-party services, among others. Once the above was defined, it was possible to analyze the costs for the 5 years of useful life of the project. There is a total investment of S/ 2 619 422, made up of the tangible investment of S/2 003 206, the intangible investment of S/16 995 and the investment in working capital of S/599 221. Finally, the financial and economic results of the project were analyzed. The opportunity cost is 17,84% and a financial NPV of S/1 579 268 is obtained, an IRR of 52,70%, a benefit/cost of 2,51 and a recovery period of 3,23 years. These findings showed us that the commercialization of “Canmote“ is feasible, existing market, technology, resources and resulting in economic and social benefit.
