This investigation results in a project whose intention is to recover the essence of the building, through the original typology. Cities tend to develop following certain guidelines and they are built based on ancient facts, as well as on the identity and collective memory of their inhabitants. For this reason, buildings should not be considered as obstacles, but as opportunities for their surrounding’s development. Therefore, in order to recover it, the building has been treated as a container, fragmented and decomposed into proportions and relevant lines extracted from its facades, floorplans and roof. Taking them as a starting point, a grid was created to portray the new spaces, which will not necessarily maintain the original functions of the spaces to recover. This grid will be extended from the heritage building to a new project. Thus, there will exist a modern program in a container and in an emptiness.
