In this research work, demand forecasts will be implemented, and inventory policies will be defined for the Purchasing area of the most important categories of the company: photocopy paper and notebooks. Our theoretical framework is mainly based on the following pillars: supply chain management, demand planning and inventory management. Initially, we will process the sales information recorded at an aggregate level to detect patterns such as level, trend or seasonality, and thus be able to adjust it to a demand forecasting model. After this, the errors of the different models will be obtained and the one with the least error will be chosen. On the other hand, inventory management will allow us to answer the questions of how often and when to order and the costs related to inventory. Having said input information, we will use the twelve-month projected demand to determine new inventory policies based on a level of service specified by senior management. The optimal batch will be determined with the equation of the “EOQ“, the practical supply period and the total relevant cost of implementing the policy. Finally, a comparative table will be made of our policy proposal with the current situation in which the company finds itself. The policies required by the company to obtain the expected level of service can be concluded.
