There is a growing demand from users who have suffered from transphalangeal amputations, who can lose up to 50% of their ability to earn income due to the loss of the fingers of the hand. In this way, obtaining a prosthesis to recover the physical capacity becomes imperative. Therefore, the present research proposes the design of a mechanically operated prosthesis for transphalangeal amputations of the hand using an iterative design methodology based on the VDI 2225 standard in the conceptual design stage. A mechanism with 4 crossed bars was chosen, where for its sizing a kinematic analysis was carried out with the EES and MatLab software starting from the phalangeal length, and for the static, stress and fatigue analysis, the Inventor and ANSYS software were used.
