In recent years, the use of remote control in heavy machinery has increased in the Peruvian mining industry due to the ease of extracting minerals from a safe distance in potentially dangerous work areas, such as in areas of stockpiles, rock banks and slopes. The process of Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) of machinery by remote control, requires the demand of the diesel engine during the loading and transport of minerals, causing the temperature of the diesel system to rise. The objective of this work is to desing and implement a remote-control system that alerts the operator of the overheating of the diesel engine of a scooptram machine, in order to reduce unexpected stops during working hours and to avoid the decrease in the engine’s lifetime. In this thesis, the electronic board Control remote system and System scooptram were designed and implemented based on the current design of the company GECO. Likewise, an electronic board made up of 16 LEDs was designed to display the temperature of the diesel engine while the remote control is being used. On the other hand, the temperature measurements of the diesel engine were made in a mechanical workshop at the company A&A Import. Finally, the tests of the remote control and the temperature of the diesel engine were carried out in two different environments: In the company workshop in Lima Diale Mining through a function simulator and in the tunnel of the Austria Duvaz mine, where the operability of the remote control functions and the measurement of the motor temperature in the machinery scooptram LH-203 was validated. Thus concluding with the functionality of the remote control and the measurement of the temperature of the motor in the scooptram equipment, improving the link time between the two systems, reducing hours of stoppage of the mining equipment and thus increasing the usefulness of the motors.
