The aim of this research is to describe the relationship between resilience and coping in a group of adolescents collage girls in their first semester in three different universities in Lima. We evaluated 150 students between the ages of 17 to 18 years old, they were selected through a non-probability sampling accidentally. The research is based on quantitative descriptive design criterion – correlational, is applied, transverse and prospective type. As Resilience Scale instruments were used - RE (α = 0.89) and Adolescents Coping Scale - ACS (α = 0.845). We found a positive correlation between the level of resilience and strategy focus on solving the problem (Rp), the greater affinity showing high levels of resilience (r = 0.478, p ≤ 0.001). In the same group are other dimensions as: Set yourself on the positive (Po) and physical Distraction (Fi). On the other hand, a negative correlation between the level of resilience and lack of coping strategy (Na) was found to be the lower affinity showing high levels of resilience [r = -0.349, p ≤ 0.001]. Similar results are evident in the dimensions: Stress Reduction (Rt) and wishful thinking (Hi). From the results obtained it is concluded that the more productive use of coping strategies there is a greater resilience and a greater level of non- productive use lower level of resilience strategies.
