The purpose of the study is to identify and describe the relationship between happiness and quality of life in people diagnosed with chronic renal failure in Metropolitan Lima. The population studied are all people with a diagnosis of chronic renal failure who receive hemodialysis treatment in a hospital in Metropolitan Lima, the sample is made up of 50 people with this diagnosis of both sexes, aged between 20 and 69 years, of any socioeconomic level living in the city of Metropolitan Lima. This research is non-experimental and has a correlational design. Three materials were applied: a sociodemographic record, the Lima Happiness Scale (cronbach alpha .916) and the 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (cronbach alpha .937). Before carrying out the investigation, a pilot study was carried out with the 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey in order to know if it is understood by the population and verify the validity and reliability of the test in peruvian territory. The main results indicate that there is a highly significant correlation (.591 **) between happiness and quality of life in people diagnosed with chronic renal failure in Metropolitan Lima. The participants have a medium level of happiness and relatively high quality of life. The dimensions of both variables, for the most part, are mostly related significantly. Concluding that at a higher level of happiness, highest level of quality of life.
