The purpose of this thesis was to study the physical-mechanical properties of a mortar added with molded cellulose microfibers and wood chip cellulose microfibers in percentages of 2%, 3%, 4% and 5% for each type of cellulose, using the Cunyac quarry as a source of fine aggregate and Portland cement type I as a binder for the mortar, characteristic tests were developed for the aggregates such as: granulometry, specific weight and absorption, moisture content and unit weight, to obtain the characteristics of the aggregate. Then the proportion of cement, water and aggregate will be calculated with the help of the E.070 masonry standard, followed by a correction with the help of the flow table test, to obtain the final proportions. Then, mortar samples were prepared for the different tests, for which the laboratory tests were complemented with tests on the brick samples, carrying out absorption and suction tests. The type of brick used was the 24cm handmade brick. x 11.5cm x 8.0cm. For the evaluation of the mechanical properties, resistance tests were carried out, specimens with a side of 5cm (cubes) were manufactured as indicated in the NTP 334.051 standard, for the bending resistance test, samples of 4cm x 4 cm x 16 were manufactured. cm as indicated by the NTP 334.120 standard, then for the fluidity test the NTP 334.057 standard was used. Regarding absorption, an average of 9.23% was obtained as a final value, 14.84% suction, for the flow table test it is found that the maximum values were obtained with 2% cellulose in both cases, both for cellulose molded like wood cellulose, having values of 84.24% and 83.37% respectively, for the bending test, maximum resistance values were obtained in 5% cellulose, the resistance being slightly higher with wood cellulose with a value of 17.50 kg/ cm2 compared to 16.07 kg/cm2 of the molded cellulose, values measured after 28 days of curing, with regard to the adhesion test, more resistant values were also obtained in 5% of added cellulose, with the final values being 2.79 kg/cm2 and 2.82 kg/cm2 compared to 2.60 kg/cm2 of the standard sample for molded cellulose and wood cellulose respectively, finally for the compressive strength test there was no significant increase in the measured values since 52.84 kg/cm2 were obtained. and 51.26 kg/cm2 with molded cellulose and wood cellulose respectively, against a value of 52.05 kg/cm2 for the pattern mortar. As a general conclusion, the addition of cellulose improves some properties of the mortar.
