The aim of this research was to evaluate the quality of obturation performed on root canal treatments. CT scans taken in 2019 of the Radiological Center EXPLORA in the city of Cusco were assessed. Furthermore, distribution of the root canal, patient age, dental arch, quadrant, and dental group were evaluated. This was a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, observational research. The sample was composed of 98 CT scans taken during 2019 available in the data base of the Radiological Center EXPLORA. In total, 187 teeth with root canal treatments which fulfilled the inclusion criteria were assessed. A total of 364 root canals were evaluated. The filling of the root canal was assessed according to length and density criteria. Within length, three criteria were included: underfilled (>2 mm before the tomographic apex), acceptable length (from 2 to 0 mm of the tomographic apex), and overfilled (outside the tomographic apex). Within density, two criteria were included: acceptable (uniform filling across the root canal), deficient filling (presence of stains, dots, or hypodense lines). Quality was considered good if both criteria were acceptable. An Excel sheet was used to record the data, and the statistical analysis was conducted using the software R version 4.1.1. It was seen that quality of obturation was good in only 23.53% among all teeth. Considering, root canals only, a 30% showed acceptable fillings. Length was acceptable only in 55.49%, underfilled 34.61%, and overfilled 4.4%, the remaining root canals were empty (5.49%). Density was considered acceptable in 48.35%, deficient in 46.14%, not considering empty root canals. Regarding, age and quality obturation, there was not a significant correlation. There were more root canal treatments conducted in the superior dental arch (62.56%). However, both maxilla rated as good, and deficient had the same pattern. The first quadrant had a proportion of good fillings which resulted in a small significancy between both variables (p=0.044) compared to the other quadrants. Nonetheless, the superior arch had the majority of deficient fillings. Molars were the group of teeth with the highest amount of root canal treatments (42.77%). They had more deficient fillings in terms of quality (37.43%). This was seven times higher than the number of filling rated as good. The rest of dental groups (anterior, canines, and premolars) did not showed major differences in terms of quality. They showed mostly deficient fillings. It was concluded that quality of filling among root canal treatments assessed in Radiological Center in 2019 was good in a percentage less than 50%. The quadrant and the dental group (although not very significant) have a relationship with the quality of obturation.
