The BIM methodology has experienced a notable expansion at present, being widely adopted by public and private entities, in addition to having a marked presence in the academic field. In this context, the Peruvian Government has demonstrated its commitment through the creation of the BIM Peru Plan in 2019, since then progress has been made with great capacity in the definition of guidelines, sighed, pilot projects and specific goals, with the purpose of Promote the gradual adoption of BIM in public investment projects. The objective of this thesis is to analyze the acceptance and use of the BIM methodology by construction professionals in the Cusco region, according to the Unified Theory of Technology Adoption and Use (UTAUT) model. The scope of this research is descriptive, adopting a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The population under study are the Civil Engineers registered in the College of Engineers of Peru Departmental Council of Cusco. For the sample, a group of 358 Civil Engineers from this population has been selected, using a non-probabilistic sampling method based on convenience. To verify the formulated hypothesis, the structural equations model was used through the partial least squares method (PLS-SEM) using the SmartPLS 4 statistical software. For this purpose, the measurement model was evaluated through the factor loadings of the indicators, the reliability of the construction through Cronbach's alpha and the composite reliability, the convergent validity through the AVE values “extracted average variance“ and the discriminant validity using the Fornell & Lacker criterion, all these values exceeded the threshold required for acceptance. As a final step, to verify the proposed hypothetical relationships, a Booststrapping analysis was performed. Through which the statistical values T and P values were determined, which were greater than 1.96 and less than 0.05, respectively, so that the proposed hypotheses have been recognized. The investigation was able to determine that the current level of use of the BIM methodology in the Cusco region is 23.18%. Based on the innovation adoption life cycle, this percentage places the region in the “early adopter” phase, moving towards the “early majority” stage. By applying the UTAUT model approach to the BIM methodology, it has been established that the independent variables: effort expectation, performance expectation and social influence influence the dependent variable: intention to use the BIM methodology. In addition, it has been identified that the independent variable facilitating conditions influences the dependent variable behavior of use of the BIM methodology. On the other hand, it was observed that the independent variable attitude does not have a significant effect on the use influence variables or on the behavior of using the BIM methodology.
