Background: In our country, 41.5% of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia are between 60 and 70 years old, the relationship with poor quality of life by the International Prostatic Score Symptoms (IPSS) is 72.4%, the objective of the study was to determine the impact of quality of life in patients with Benign Prostate Hyperplasia at Antonio Lorena Hospital in 2018. Methods: A retrospective analytical cross-sectional study was performed in patients diagnosed with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia who received care in the urology outpatient clinic at the Antonio Lorena Hospital in Cusco in 2018. The impact of the quality of life and associated characteristics were determined through a data collection card. For the data analysis, the consistency index was used: “Cronbach's Alpha coefficient“ that allowed to measure the reliability of the instrument to be applied and the statistics was determined with the non-parametric “Tau-B-Kendall“ test that evaluates the relationship among ordinal qualitative variables. Results: Of the 100% of patients surveyed with Benign Prostate Hyperplasia, over 50 years old, 2.3% represent positive impact of quality of life, 59.2% represent indifferent impact of quality of life and 38.5% represent negative impact of quality of life, there is an association between frequency and the negative impact of quality of life in the Antonio Lorena Hospital in 2018 with coefficient of association of 0.209 and Pvalor <0.05; Likewise, there is an association between age and the Impact of quality of life, with Pvalor <0.05 and coefficient of association is 0.703 representing 0.8% of the age range of 50 to 60 years, 5.1% of the age range of 71 At 80 years, 28.3% of the age range of 81 to 90 years and 4.2% of the age range of 91 to 100 years have a negative impact on the quality of life. Conclusions: Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia negatively impacts the quality of life of the patient, with the greatest deterioration in patients from the age range of 71 to 80 years; the origin, level of education and marital status are not related to the impact of quality of life.
