Over the years our country has had continuous economic growth, thanks to the contribution of the different productive sectors that have been contributing to the improvement of public investment and this has allowed governments in their different hierarchies to increase their public spending, we wonder if this increase in public investment has allowed the reduction of monetary poverty in the department of Cusco during the 2015-2020 period. Using time series data collected from the ENAHO (monetary poverty) and the MEF (public investment), using the linear regression model and the ordinary least squares estimation method, public investment and its effects on monetary poverty are evaluated. In response to all our research and analysis, it was found that public investment has had a significant, but differentiated impact on the reduction of monetary poverty because for every 100 million soles that each government has executed in public investment projects, the poverty indicator will decrease by 1.3%; Likewise, we have shown that the dynamics of public investment had an optimal impact on districts that are not poor and extremely poor, but in the non-extreme poor it had an inverse relationship. Similarly, on the side of monetary poverty, it turns out that the most benefited are the districts classified as extremely poor. Finally, we can corroborate that public investment helped reduce poverty.
