The Caesalpinia spinosa species has shown to be a source of bioactive metabolites with important biological properties, international and national studies highlight its anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and astringent effect in dental therapy. The objective of the present work was to determine the histological response of the dental pulp when exposed to the extract of Caesalpinia spinosa (tara) in vivo at different concentrations and times, in order to offer an economical alternative, non-toxic and just as effective as the pulp agents currently used. An experimental study was carried out using male rabbits of the species Oryctolagus cuniculus with a weight of 2 Kg; where the sample consisted of a total of 36 rabbit teeth (upper incisors), distributed in 3 groups: A control group made up of 12 teeth and 2 groups subjected to exposure to “tare“ at concentrations of 0.50mg / ml and 0.75mg / ml at a time of 2 hours and 8 days for its corresponding evaluation. The results were analyzed and it is observed that the chi square test is 6.70, with a P of 0.153 which is greater than 0.05, this means that the concentration with the Histological Response is not related to time. However, it is evident that at 2 hours there is statistical significance in the mild histological response between the tare concentration at 0.75mg / ml and the control group having a value of P = 0.000. Also between the tare concentrations with a P = 0.003 and between the concentration at 0.50mg / ml and the control group with a P = 0.022, Conclusion: The Caesalpinia spinosa (tara) extract at 75mg / ml is similar to that of the control group in the histological response, so it can be used in the treatment of pulpotomies. There is also a significant difference between both concentrations, showing that the histological response is directly proportional to the concentration of the extract.
