This thesis addresses the issue of an outdated network infrastructure in the Special Binational Project for the Integral Development of the Putumayo River Basin. It emphasizes the need to analyze and design a new infrastructure to enhance data transmission. Challenges include limitations in speed and capacity, lack of support for modern technologies, complicated integration of devices and systems, budget constraints, and a shortage of trained resources. The general problem formulation focuses on the extent to which the design of a new network improves information management. Specific problems include how to improve infrastructure and network speed, as well as increase user satisfaction. The overall and specific objectives aim to design suitable infrastructure, enhance speed, and increase user satisfaction. Hypotheses suggest that the design of a new network improves information management. Variables are identified, such as the data network (independent) and information management (dependent). The applied methodology includes a pre-test/post-test experimental design. A specific population and sample are presented, with data collection techniques such as observation and satisfaction surveys. Data is processed and analyzed statistically. Results indicate significant improvements in speed and user satisfaction after implementing the new network design. Discussions include comparisons with similar research, and conclusions highlight the importance of infrastructure design and continuous improvement. Recommendations include continuous updates, staff training, regular monitoring and maintenance, and the development of security policies.
