The purpose of this research is to determine the level of depression among incarcerated women in the city of Iquitos in the year 2022. This quantitative, non-experimental study aims to provide a simple description of the population. The population consists of 47 women imprisoned in a correctional facility in the city of Iquitos. This is a sample of 46 inmates, and the study design is non-hypothetical since it is a descriptive study. Therefore, the analysis of the data will be conducted using the statistical software SPSS v22. A standardized depression assessment tool will be used to collect the data, and statistical analysis will be performed to determine the prevalence and severity of depression among the participants. The findings of this study will contribute to understanding the mental health status of incarcerated women in Iquitos and inform the development of targeted interventions and support systems. It is important to note that the scope of this study is limited to the specific context of Iquitos in 2022, and the results may not be generalizable. However, these results will serve as a foundation for future research and efforts to address mental health issues among incarcerated women.
