He/she was carried out an investigation ofexperimental type, in order to determine the Influence of the Dimenhidrinato in the Active Phase of the Work of Childbirth, in gestantes to I finish withoutfetal maternal complications, forthatwhich one worked with a sample of 74 gestantes with dilations of 4 cm. and 5 cm., distributed aleatorily in 2 groups: The experimental group (37 gestantes) Dimenhidrinato 50 mg. received diluted in 5 c. of Chloride of Sodium to 9% for via slow endovenosa, the other group control (37 gestantes) any medication was not administered. The discoveries were compared obtaining the following results: 1. The time average of the active phase you shortens in the primigestas in 180.3 min. and in the multigestas 163.4 min. for the experimental group (Dimenhidrinato). while for the group control in primigesta was of 353.8 min. and 261.0 min. for the multigestas, being significant since decreases in 50% the duration of the active phase. 2. The total duration of the childbirth work had an average for the primigestas of 247.4 min. and 175.8 min. for the multigestas in the experimental group (Dimenhidrinato). while for the group control it was 0f 377.2 min. in primigestas and 335 min. for the multigestas, being statistically dependent and highly significant, reducing in 65% the total duration ofthe childbirth work. 3. The duration average of the period of childbirth and bled theywereamong you limit them normal so much in the primigestas and multigestas in both groups. 4. The dimenhidrinato administration doesn't produce secondary neither adverse effects in the binomial mother-boy.
