Toe primary objective of a rehabilitative dental treatment is aimed at restoring or maintaining the functionality of the mouth. In this way, the recovery of the dental structure, the optima! spatial arrangement of the teeth, and above ali an adequate masticatory capacity is constituted in the horizon to be reached. Objective. To compare masticatory performance of patients with fixed prosthesis and patients with removable prostheses ofthe stomatologic clinic UCP, 2015. Methodology. Toe present quantitative study, with a non descriptive comparative design, the population consisted of 52 patients between fixed prosthesis and removable prosthesis ofthe stomatologic clinic ofthe Universidad Científica del Peru, between January and December 2015. Results. Toe highest percentage of the sample (43. l%) with fixed prosthesis presented a very good masticatory performance, followed by mixed carriers (39.2%) and the lowest percentage (17.6%) with removable prostheses. Toe highest percentage of the sample was (84.6%) corresponding to 44 females and the lowest was (15.4%) corresponding to 8 males. Toe fixed prosthesis is the most used in the upper jaw (51.9%), followed by the rnixed one (30.8%) and the removable one (11.5%) and without prosthesis (5.8%); And fixed prosthesis is the most used in the lower jaw (44.2%), followed by fixed (40.4%) and mixed (7.7%) and without prosthesis (7.7%). Conclusion. Masticatory performance is similar for both patients with fixed prosthesis and patients with removable partial prosthesis (0.053).
