The objective was to promote nature tourism in a responsible manner. The research design was descriptive and quantitative in approach, and non-experimental and cross-sectional. The finite population was made up of 350 tourists, foreigners, nationals and locals; and the sample size for 76 tourists who visited the Allpahuayo Mishana National Reserve, to whom a survey and questionnaire were applied. The results show that 80% of the visitors are foreign tourists and 20% are national and local tourists; having as a priority to carry out tourist activities in well-being and harmony with the environment and nature, being the tourist activities of greatest interest: with 39% taking ayahuasca, 34% experiential tourism, 11% ecotourism, 9% tourism adventure and 7% scientific tourism. In relation to compliance with biosafety protocols, 100% of tourists did observe all the signs posted by the institution in charge of managing the reserve (SERNAP), thus recognizing that promoting nature tourism responsibly, if it influences the decision that the tourist has when choosing the type of tourism that he wishes to carry out and the place to visit. The study concludes by stating that tourists today and due to the health emergency choose to carry out nature tourism, have direct contact with the environment without crowding, look for places that guarantee them the least possibility of contagion of COVID-19, They also seek to carry out sustainable activities in harmony with the environment, thus involving the surrounding population or communities for their development.
