The objective of the research is to provide data and/or references about the elaboration of concrete (cement-sand) and its properties for structural uses in the city of Iquitos using aggregates from the city such as white sand from quartz quarries and sand. gray from river quarries. As is known in the city of Iquitos, it is not possible to make concrete (cement-sand-stone) due to the lack of one of the main materials such as “stone“, so it is decided to make concrete (cement-sand) for its buildings. The investigation is divided into three parts, the first is the basic tests that have to be carried out on the aggregates (quartz quarry and fluvial quarry) to be used in the mix designs (fineness modulus, specific surface area, loose and compacted unit weight, absorption and specific gravity), the second part shows the procedure for the calculations of the mix designs (with water/cement ratios 0.58, 0.64 and 0.69 with aggregates from the fluvial quarry and with water/cement ratios 0.63, 0.70 and 0.77 with aggregates from the quartz quarry) obtaining results (dosages) to apply in works, and as a third part, values of the properties of the concrete (cement-sand) would be obtained, such as the properties in the fresh state (slump, yield, unit weight, percentage of trapped air, exudation, temperature) and the properties of concrete (cement-sand) in the hardened state (compressive strength, flexural strength, tensile strength and modulus of elasticity); using steel molds for 4” and 6” diameter specimens and rectangular steel molds for the beams, whose results broaden the knowledge about the behavior of concrete (cement-sand).
