With the passing of time and the growth of civilization, people have chosen to replace and displace the vegetation cover on the roofs of buildings with concrete, brick and metal structure. At present, it is necessary to create spaces that allow people to become aware of climate change and provide the necessary tools for the mitigation and adaptation necessary against it and thus promote feasible and friendly alternative solutions according to the landscape and urban planning of cities. in the search to improve people's quality of life. This project proposes a design alternative to implement a green roof to reduce electricity consumption in buildings in the city of Tarapoto, by quantifying energy and economic savings from electrical appliances and the design of a green roof of the type indirect, with materials that are feasible to use and resistant, for a warm climate area. To achieve the objective, the temperature in ° C, of the roof surface of a building under study, and the ambient temperature of the facilities were monitored on a weekly basis, for a consecutive period of three months, using a thermometer for these purposes. infrared and the hygrometer, with the result that a green roof attenuates the temperature, but that attenuation and its benefits depend on the size of this and other factors such as the properties of the materials, the thickness of the substrate and the irrigation.
