It is common in our ambit, finding in different projects, problems of cracking, problems of constructive type and structural design due to the volumetric changes in the concrete, even in many cases the causes and transcendence are not identified and evaluated; producing technical discrepancies or legal type by ignorance of the mechanisms that control these behaviors. Therefore, all analyzes of this research, about the water / cement ratio and fine aggregate, refer only to these parameters referring to the shrinkage. The general problem of research is, how does the use of Type I Portland cement influence the length change control associated with shrinkage in concrete cement - sand in Iquitos 2021? The main objective is to study the behavior of concrete cement - sand using Type I Portland cement for the measurement of shrinkage in Iquitos 2021. The main objective is to study the behavior of concrete of cement-sand using Type I Portland cement for the measurement of the shrinkage in Iquitos 2021. The first tests to be carried out were to determine the physical properties of the aggregates; Subsequently, mixing designs were performed for the concrete with three different W / C ratios of 0.55, 0.60, and 0.70; finally, we carried out fresh and hardened concrete tests, highlighting the shrinkage tests. For the free shrinkage test with curing and without curing 10 binoculars of 75 x 75 x 285 mm were used. For each w/c ratio, making a total of 30 concrete prisms - sand to be analyzed. The data obtained were carried out for 28 days. It was observed that the w/c ratios of 0.55, 0.60, and 0.70, in the prisms without curing there is shrinkage and the prisms with 28 day curing there is an expansion in the w/c ratios of 0.55 and 0.60, while in the w/c ratio 0.70, there is shrinkage. Presenting in w/c ratio = 0.55, greater change in length. Therefore, cement-sand concrete uses a high water content, that is, it uses more paste than conventional concrete. From all this, it is concluded that the higher the w/c ratio, the change in length (shrinkage) will be less so that the variable of fine aggregate, the content of cement, and the content of water have a great influence on the process of change in length in concrete of cement - sand.
