In EsSALUD since 2011, when the care of adolescent pregnant women was incorporated, an increase in maternal perinatal complications and cesarean sections was reported Objective: To determine the complications in pregnant adolescent cesarean delivery at Hospital III Iquitos de EsSALUD. Methodology: A quantitative study with a descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective, correlative design, evaluated the virtual histories of 82 pregnant adolescent cesarean sections, collecting information on the sociodemographic and obstetric characteristics, indications for cesarean section and complications during and after cesarean sections. Results: 25.6% of pregnant adolescent cesarean section presented intra- and post-caesarean section complications, the main ones were infection of operative wounds (12.2%), urinary infection (4.9%), abdominal wall hematoma (2.4%) and post-anesthesia headache (2.4 %); the presence of intra- and post-caesarean section complications was significantly associated with rural and urban-marginal origin (p = 0.033), with low weight and pre-pregnancy obesity (p = 0.019), type of caesarean section (p = 0.008), Conclusion: The complications of caesarean section in pregnant adolescent cesarean sections are associated with the origin, body mass index and type of caesarean section.
