This research project determined the physical and mechanical properties of “Quinilla” Manilkara Bidentata wood, in green state, for its use in construction, Iquitos 2019 ”. For the development of this activity, the samples destined for physical and mechanical tests in test tubes were conditioned, taking into account the Peruvian Technical standards. (See TABLE N ° 1, TABLE N ° 2, TABLE N ° 3, TABLE N ° 4). The research project is descriptive, with a descriptive Non-experimental - Transectional research design, because variables were not used before, studying them as is. According to the results of the physical properties, the Quinilla Colorada “Manilkara Bidentata“, has an average value of basic density of 0.68 gr / cm3 and an air dry CH of 13.79% (See TABLE N ° 6), therefore It is concluded (according to Standard E.010. Wood, Chapter 1: Grouping of woods for structural use, Art.5: Grouping, 2018), that it belongs to Group B, with Basic Density ranging from 0.56 to 0, 70 g / cm3, which makes it a very high density wood, which must be worked in a green state to facilitate nailing and carving. Likewise, the contraction test, tangential contraction is 5.55%, radial contraction 5.00% and finally the volumetric contraction is 10.85% prove to be proportional to the decrease in its moisture content, (table No. 5 of the classification range of the woods according to their physical properties (Aróstegui Vargas & Baluarte V. (1991). From the analysis of the average values of the mechanical properties, all the mechanical tests were classified as Very High.
