The present thesis project consisted in determining the influence on the improvement of the subgrade soils, with the use of lime as an additive, of Av. Ahuashiyacu of the Banda de Shilcayo district so that later this stabilized base becomes part of the structure of the various types of pavements, the influence of the use of lime as an additive was obtained through laboratory tests. The tests carried out on the soil samples in the laboratory allow us to assess the positive changes that the proportions of lime generate on the soil samples. These tests were: CBR, granulometry, modified proctor and consistency limits; in order to later compare the results obtained from the tests, and thereby carry out a correct dosage of lime, thus obtaining an optimal soil. This research was divided into four phases. In the first phase, they made 1.50 meter deep pits. In the second phase, the samples were dried in the open air. In the third phase, laboratory work was carried out on said samples obtained in the pits. Finally, in the fourth phase, the data obtained were processed, and initial and final tests of the samples were compared. The influence of lime is observed as an additive in the improvement of the foundation terrain soils in Av. Ahuashiyacu, observing the effect that causes an increase in the California bearing capacity (CBR) and resistance to cutting of these sandy loamy clay soils. Of the four soil treatments with lime, the one that offers the best advantages is stabilization with 8% lime with 34.60% of design CBR.
