The specific objectives are: to describe the behavior of world imports and exports of forest products, and of Peru. The research method used is descriptive, with quantitative information obtained from the customs institution. It is concluded that the world market presents growing exports, which shows a growing demand. China is the leading country in world exports with a 10% share thanks to its incentive policies for the industry. It should be noted that no country in Latin America does not have a significant presence as a specific exporting country, in Latin America the main exporting countries are Brazil and Chile. In the case of world imports, they are also growing, which tells us that there is a need in the population for products of wood materials. In world imports, China is also the leader with a share of 14.2%. In Latin America, the two countries with a high share of imports are Chile and Peru. Peru's import market shows that it is growing, which shows a demand that must be met. The main country from where it is imported is Chile with a 35% share followed by Brazil with a 16% share. The main products imported into the country are wafer boards and wood fiber boards. The main port where these products enter is the sea port of Callao followed by the port of Paita, it is observed that most of the companies that import into the country are incorporated in the city of Lima.
