The present research work has been developed in the Backus beer company which is a subsidiary of AB Inbev, the company Backus has different plants around the country and in the Cusco plant, in the packaging area there are different problems and one of them is when making the format changes, this process causes low productivity in the line, for this reason this research is carried out which has been developed with tools and techniques that were acquired in the professional training of the Industrial Engineering career. In order to improve the productivity of the line, the aim is to reduce the time in the format changes and these will be solved with the technique of S.M.E.D. The work is developed in five chapters which are divided as follows: CHAPTER I: Problem Statement: It shows the existing problems in the packaging area, the justification, the objectives and the delimitation of the study. CHAPTER II: Theoretical Framework: The theoretical information collected regarding the SMED tool is presented. CHAPTER III: Research Methodology: The methodology and development of the investigation will be explained. CHAPTER IV: Research Results: In this chapter the results of the work are presented, looking at the current situation of the study area. CHAPTER V: Discussion: This chapter will describe the most relevant findings and the limitations of the study.
